PAKISTANI PHD SCHOLAR WINS ‘BEST POSTGRADUATE STUDENT AWARD’

Monday, May 04, 2015 - Islamabad—Pakistani scholar, Dr. Riaz Ahmed has earned the degree of Doctor of Philosophy(Management) with distinction in a record time of three years on self-finance basis from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM), Johor Bahru, Malaysia. Universiti Teknologi Malaysia has honored Dr. Riaz Ahmed with the “Best Student Award” in recognition of his excellent academic achievement. The Best Student Award was presented by Prof. Dr. Zaidatun Binti Tasir, Dean, School of Graduate Studies in the ‘Best Student Award Ceremony’ held on April 24, 2015 at UTM, Malaysia. 

Dr. Riaz Ahmed also attended 54th convocation ceremony held at UTM, Malaysia on April 25-26, 2015 and received his PhD degree from the Queen of Johor , Raja Zarith Sofia binti Almarhum Sultan Idris Shah, the Chancellor of UTM. The topic of his PhD research was “The Moderating Role of Top Management Support on the Relationship between Project Manager’s Leadership Competencies and Project Success”. The research data was collected on the projects of Planning Commission from the Social Sector of Pakistan. 

Dr. Riaz Ahmed is working in the Registrar Secretariat, Principal Seat, COMSATS Institute of Information Technology (CIIT), Islamabad. Prior to CIIT, Dr. Riaz Ahmed has served in higher education institutions of Pakistan including NUST and UET Lahore. He has published several research papers in reputed journals in the field of leadership and project management.
